      Introduction

The combined major in Russian Studies is administered by the interdepartmental committee listed above. The goal of the program is to provide the student with a broad knowledge of modern Russia and Eurasia through the study of humanities, language, literature and the social sciences. Study of the Russian language to a level of proficiency is required. Study abroad programs in Russia are strongly recommended. The major does not require a minor for graduation.
