Language course for beginning students, providing a foundation in reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills for all subsequent courses.  Credit may not be earned for both 101 and 175.

Language course for students who have had Italian 101 or the equivalent, providing continuing work on reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills for all subsequent courses.  Credit may not be earned for both 102 and 175.

Intensive course for serious beginning students. 175 equivalent to 101–102. 276 equivalent to 201–202.

A survey of Italian culture as reflected in literary texts from the Middle Ages to the Renaissance.

A survey of Italian culture as reflected in literary texts from the Renaissance to the present.

Study of individual authors, genres, and/or periods of Italian literature and culture in translation.

Principally the Vita Nuova and the Divine Comedy.
