Introduction to Parallel Processing
ECE *432 (3)(Also offered as CS 442 / 542)
Machine taxonomy and introduction to parallel programming. Performance issues, speed-up and efficiency. Interconnection networks and embeddings. Parallel programming issues and models: control parallel, data parallel and data flow. Programming assignments on massively parallel machines. Completion of *437 or CS **481 is recommended.
Prerequisite: **337 or CS 341L.
Restriction: admitted to School of Engineering.
