      Introduction

      Physical Therapy is a health care profession whose primary purpose is the promotion of optimal human performance through the application of sound scientific principles to the prevention, evaluation and treatment of acute and chronic movement dysfunction.

      Program

      The Physical Therapy Program at the University of New Mexico consists of a three year curriculum of professional graduate course work and clinical training which leads to a Doctorate of Physical Therapy (D.P.T.) degree. The program is accredited by the Commission of Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE).
