This course is designed to provide physical education pre-service teacher candidates a basic background in exercise and health related fitness concepts. Planning, conducting and evaluating lessons in the area of fitness will be emphasized. The five health-related fitness components will be highlighted. Teacher candidates will participate in various fitness assessments; preparing, conducting, and evaluating each assessment area of fitness and learning how to develop goals and activities for behavior change.
