The interdepartmental minor in Medieval Studies requires 24 credit hours of work in approved courses. All students must take HIST 1190 Medieval Europe (3 credit hours) and all students must complete one course in Latin or a modern European language, selected from the following: FREN 1110, 1120, 2110, 2120; GRMN 1110, 1120, 2110, 2120; ITAL 276; LATN 1110, 1120, 2110, 2120; RUSS 1110, 1120, 2110, 2120; SPAN 1110, 1120, 2110, 2120. The remaining 18 credit hours are to be selected from the Approved Electives listed below, including at least 3 credit hours in History, 3 credit hours in English, and 3 credit hours in Art History.
ANTH *420 (when taught as Medieval Archaeology); ARTH 321, 322, 323, *330, 429 (when topic is appropriate), 431, 432, 449; ENGL 2996 (when topic is appropriate), 306, 347, 348, 349, 350, 351, 447, 448, 449, 450, 451; HIST 300 (when topic is appropriate), 303, 304, 314, 318, 323, 326, 395 (when topic is appropriate), 401, 402, 406, 427, 485, 488; ITAL *475; MDVL 347; MUS 361, 413; SPAN **411. Other courses of medieval content may be approved as electives by the Director of the Institute for Medieval Studies.
