The curriculum is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND), 120 South Riverside Place, Suite 200, Chicago, IL 60606-6995, (800) 877-1600 ext. 5400. The curriculum meets academic requirements of the Didactic program in Dietetics (DPD) for qualification as a registered dietitian (RD). After graduation, students who wish to become registered dietitians need to complete a supervised practice program, such as a Dietetic Internship program. This leads to eligibility to take the National Registration Exam. Admission to a Dietetic Internship is very competitive and not guaranteed.
To be admitted to the Nutrition and Dietetics program, students must have a minimum grade point average of 3.0. For other admission requirements see the Nutrition and Dietetics program Web site. Contact the Nutrition program for the most current information.
